Speaking during the 2026 Mental Health Symposium, Chiromo Hospital Group Chair, Prof. Frank Njenga, emphasized the need to empower the country’s growing youthful population to fully harness its potential. He warned that failure to do so could turn this demographic advantage into a major challenge.
Meanwhile, CEO Dr. Vincent Hongo highlighted the practical benefits of AI in mental healthcare, noting its ability to track patient progress, enhance diagnostics, and improve clinical outcomes.
At the same time, Prof. Lukoye Atwoli who is also the Chairman of Mathari Hospital underscored that while technology is a powerful tool, it is meant to complement not replace human expertise in mental health care.
