Civil society warns MPs and senators against push to extend term limits

Activists have strongly rejected attempts to extend or remove presidential term limits in Kenya. Speaking out today, they warned Members of Parliament and Senators against backing any such move, insisting it would be a direct threat to democracy and the Constitution. They vowed to resist any plans that undermine the will of the people and the principle of peaceful leadership transition.
