Co-operatives CS Oparanya asks farmers to invest in coffee farming

    Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya has called on farmers in western kenya to invest in coffee farming saying the government has revived the crop that had declined for years. Speaking to farmers during a sensitization meeting held in busia town, cs oparanya said that coffee is now more profitable compared to other crops and that the construction of coffee factories in 33 coffee growing counties will provide farmers with more opportunities to sell their produce. Bungoma county currently leads in coffee production in the western region, recording 2.3 million metric tonnes annually.
