Following the suspension of free condoms and ARVs in Kenya by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the country is facing a risk of increased cases of sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/AIDS and unplanned pregnancies. According to Dr. Susan Gitau, a counselling psychologist, the situation could see a rise in cases of unplanned pregnancies among those who engage in unprotected sex which could fuel back street abortions and related health complications.
