Football brings fans unforgettable moments and for one mother this was one she never thought possible. Tanya Marie is a first-generation Congolese living in the USA. In the past year, her mother was diagnosed with cancer. When the World Cup came to her backyard in Texas, and Congo had qualified for the first time since 1974, she decided to surprise her mother with tickets to the DR Congo vs Portugal game. Mother and daughter were in the stands as DR Congo made history with their first-ever goal at a World Cup. But the gift became far more than 90 minutes of football; it was a celebration of love and making memories when they matter most.
