The State Department for Justice, Human Rights and Constitutional Affairs has warned of widespread embezzlement of public funds in county governments, citing deep-rooted corruption at the grassroots. Speaking at the close of a 3-day training for over 500 County Anti-Corruption Civilian Oversight Committees, Principal Secretary Justice, Human Rights and Constitutional Affairs, Judy Pareno said the government is strengthening the fight against corruption nationwide. She said the committees composed of members drawn from all 47 counties will act as whistleblowers on corrupt public projects.
