Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has disclosed that Kenya is now operating at 93 percent renewable energy as the country moves toward full clean power transition by the year 2030. The Cabinet Secretary who spoke during the commissioning of rural electrification projects in Busia and Siaya counties, where more than 280 households have now been connected to the national grid, said the government intends to expand clean energy to rural communities, as part of the national strategy.
