The government has introduced a “Bed Capacity Access” rule in part of the reforms under the Social Health Authority meant to weed out fraud in the delivery of healthcare. Cabinet Secretary for Health Aden Duale says SHA will only settle claims by registered and approved health facilities for the actual services rendered. Duale maintained that primary healthcare remains free at levels 1, 2, and 3 public healthcare facilities, cautioning patients against making any payments there. Wycliffe Oketch reports.
