EACC arrests Bomet governor Barchok, former Bungoma boss Wangamati

Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok and former Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati will spend the night in police cells pending their arraignment in Court on Tuesday to face corruption and abuse of office related charges. The two were detained at the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission offices after honoring the summons issued Friday. Wangamati however claimed his arrest is politically motivated in a bid to derail his bid for the Bungoma gubernatorial seat in 2027 polls.
