Ebola outbreak raises regional health alert

Fears of a wider health crisis are growing across Central and East Africa following a deadly Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with Uganda reporting a related fatal case. At least 65 people have died and more than 240 cases have been recorded, mostly in eastern DRC. The Africa CDC says it is closely monitoring the situation as countries step up response measures, with Kenya’s Ministry of Health now on high alert over possible cross-border spread.
