Education CS Ezekiel Machogu says the government will disburse 28 billion shillings to support secondary schools in the country by the end of this week. Speaking during an inspection tour of Siaya county on Tuesday, Machogu reiterated the government’s commitment to funding education at all levels, urging parents to take advantage of the new funding model for higher education, where the government will offer scholarships to the less fortunate up to 70% of tuition fees. ICT CS Eliud Owalo, echoed President William Ruto’s declaration of offering employment in the digital space. CS Machogu also hinted that the ministry will re-introduce ranking of schools based on the number of trees planted to mitigate effects of climate change.
