Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes, Geoffrey Ruku has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to drought response.
Speaking during a food distribution exercise for drought-affected families in Eldas, Ruku said the national government remains focused on cushioning vulnerable households from the biting effects of prolonged dry spells. Hundreds of families received relief food as part of ongoing intervention measures.
Eldas MP Adan Keynan, who hosted the CS, thanked the President for including the North Eastern region in national development plans and called for the expansion of drought intervention initiatives to safeguard livelihoods.
