Waste recycling companies are being urged to invest in responsible waste management initiatives to maximise waste recovery and reduce the ecological footprint. The calls came during the monthly Malindi beach clean-up exercise, where companies were challenged to take a lead role in developing modern waste management solutions in support of communities whose livelihoods are dependent on recycling. The community is also being urged to exercise its personal responsibility and dump waste in the designated areas to avoid polluting the ocean, which is a threat to marine life.
