EPZ employment rises to 95,364 as exports hit Sh135.7bn in 2025

The Export Processing Zones Programme recorded steady growth in 2025 fueled by an expansion in the apparel and agro-processing sectors. According to the latest data from the Export Processing Zone Authority, EPZA, export earnings rose to 135.7 billion shillings last year, up from 129 billion in 2024. This growth has also impacted the labor market, with direct employment increasing to over 95,000 workers, a rise of 6,000 jobs over the previous year.
