As a child, her parents were told that her health condition was the result of evil spirits inside her. Ms Jebuto says her parents even gave her traditional medicines and herbs in the belief that she would get better. In reality, the parents were misled and risked their daughter's life. Mrs Jebuto is a sickle cell survivor and has been living with the disease for 31 years.
