Donors have pledged billions of shillings to aid Africa’s climate change mitigation efforts the United Arab Emirates committing the highest amount of 7.5 billion dollars with the United States promising to pump in 30 million dollars. The pledges came even as the United Nations sustained its pressure on developed countries to meet their end of the bargain and cover the costs and implications of climate change in Africa since they accounted for 80 percent of greenhouse gas emissions.
