Githurai 44 member of the county assembly (MCA), Mwangi Waithira, has tendered his resignation, citing the county government’s failure to deliver on key development projects and a deteriorating working relationship with Nairobi’s leadership. Waithira pointed to unfulfilled pledges made by county leadership, including the construction of a sports ground and the upgrading of a local hospital in Githurai 44, as part of the frustrations that led to his decision. His resignation makes him the third ward representative to step down under the current constitution
