The government has intensified efforts to transform informal settlements across Kenya through the Second Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP 2). The program is focused on issuing title deeds to residents while upgrading essential infrastructure such as roads, water, drainage, electricity, and security. In Embu County, officials say surveying and mapping of settlements is ongoing, paving the way for issuance of block and individual title deeds that will secure land ownership and unlock development opportunities.
