Principals and trainers in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions have been warned over increasing cases of sexual exploitation involving learners. Speaking during the closing ceremony of a three-day Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) leadership workshop in Mombasa, Principal Secretary for TVET Dr Esther Muoria revealed that her office had received disturbing reports linking some trainers and principals to the abuse of students. She described the situation as unacceptable, noting that some institutions were facing serious mismanagement, including cases where students were being exploited instead of receiving proper training.
