Governor Barasa endorses Raila’s AU chairmanship bid

    Kakamega governor, Fernandes Barasa, supports the bid by the leader of the Azimio movement, Raila Odinga, to vie for the position of chairperson of the African union Commission (AUC). Barasa also opposes the notion that Odinga's political influence nationally would diminish should he assume the continental role. If elected by the 53 members of the African Union Commission, Odinga will hold office until 2028, one year after the next general election in Kenya.
