Governors demand urgent reforms to SHA and shif laws to fix health sector gaps

Through the Council of Governors (CoG), the county chiefs said the current framework has created operational challenges, including delays in reimbursements and a lack of clarity on counties’ roles in managing health funds. They noted that counties are still owed over KSh 10.3 billion in pending claims from the old NHIF system, a backlog they say is crippling service delivery.
