Residents of Wajir County are set to benefit from improved and more reliable electricity supply following the government’s renewed push to hybridize power systems across the region. Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi announced that the government is investing Ksh 7.7 billion in energy connectivity projects aimed at transforming electricity access in Wajir County. Speaking during the launch of electrification materials at Bulla Kisumu in Wajir East Constituency, Wandayi said the projects are part of a broader plan to stabilize power supply by integrating solar energy with existing diesel-powered stations.
