Hundreds of Community Health Promoters in Embu have today held protests over unpaid dues for four months from the County Government.
The workers said some of the unpaid dues date back to 2024 when they were not paid stipends for the months of November and December amounting to 7.8 Million shillings.
They said the current pending dues were for the months of December last year and January this year, which are currently being held in banks despite having been released by the county treasury.
Led by their Chair Peter Mugo, the CHPs called on the devolved unit to settle their unpaid due so that they can continue taking care of the health of the communities.
