Kenya's Hellen Obiri won a bronze medal in the women’s marathon as the Olympics games in Paris came to an end. Obiri won the bronze in 2.23.10 behind winner Sifan Hassan and Ethiopia’s Tigist Assefa in second place. Kenya's Sharon Lokedi narrowly missed out on the podium with a 4th place finish while defending champion Peres Jepchirchir finished 15th.
