The High Court has temporarily barred the government from putting up a permanent church or any structure tied to a religious faith within the premises of State House, Nairobi, or any other State House or State Lodge. Justice Chacha Mwita issued the orders following petitions that had been filed by different groups raising weighty constitutional and legal issues about the intersection of religion and state functions.
