The High Court in Isiolo has halted the impeachment of Governor Abdi Guyo pending hearing and determination of a case he filed. Justice Heston Nyaga barred Members of the County Assembly from "admitting, processing, debating or considering" the impeachment motion tabled before the assembly on June 10. The MCAs were set to debate the impeachment motion on Tuesday. The judge also directed the Governor is furnished with a copy of the Notice of Motion for Impeachment, together with all supporting documents, within 48 hours of service of the order.The respondents have seven days to file their responses.
