IEBC downplays Marjan Hussein Marjan’s exit, cites mutual separation

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairperson Erastus Ethekon has downplayed any backroom intrigues that led to the exit of former IEBC CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan, saying his exit was a mutual decision meant to ensure efficiency and transparency in the commission’s secretariat. Marjan’s exit, albeit a surprise to the public, had been long coming since the new commissioners came to office last July, having to look into his two and a half year adminstration of the commission without the oversight of commissioners.
