IEBC reopens continuous voter registration

    The continous mass voter registration kicks off tomorrow with the Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC, expected to enlist 6.3 million new voters ahead of 2027 elections. The exercise which will be launched in Kajiado, will be conducted across the country with youth who have attained the age of 18 since 2017 expected to register. The exercise which will cost the commission approximately eight billion shillings will be conducted at Huduma centres and all IEBC registration centres across the 290 constituencies. During the 2017 general elections 10 million voters were registered leading to a total voter registration of 19 million. IEBC hopes to increase this number to over 25 million voters by 2027.
