Junior Secondary School teachers in Kajiado have joined colleagues across the country in pushing for autonomy from primary schools. The teachers say they are grappling with heavy workloads, understaffing, and lack of motivation as they handle large numbers of learners without adequate support. They are now demanding that Junior Secondary School tutors be allowed to specialise in their teaching areas, and that the government employ more teachers permanently.
