The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has released Sh4.3 billion to the National Land Commission (NLC) to compensate people affected by the ongoing Kengeleni–Kwa Kadzengo road project. Speaking during an inspection tour of the Mtwapa Bridge project, Cleophas Makau said delays in the multi-billion-shilling project have mainly been caused by relocation and compensation processes for project-affected persons. Makau confirmed that construction of the dual carriageway has reached 75 percent completion and is expected to be finished by August 2027. He added that the government has mobilised funds through fuel levy securitisation to ensure smooth compensation and continuation of works.
