Public participation on the affordable housing bill entered the 12th day with various institutions appearing before the joint committees of finance and housing. The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) proposes that the government consider alternative sources of funding for the projects instead of targeting salaried Kenyans proposing that the climate action fund be utilized to construct greenhouses. Also coming before the committee was the association of stockbrokers who proposed that the government take up their proposal of developing a real estate investment trust where interested Kenyans can take up shares in a housing estate.
