Defending champions Abdi Nageeye of the Netherlands and Sheila Chepkirui of Kenya headline a star-studded lineup that has been confirmed for the 2025 New York marathon on the 2nd of November. The elite men's list is dominated by Kenyan world beaters in marathon, including 2021 winner Albert Korir, 2022 champion Evans Chebet, Paris Olympics bronze medalist Benson Kipruto, two-time New York half-marathon champion Abel Kipchumba, and 2024 London marathon champion Alexander Mutiso, running in New York for the first time. On the women's side, Chepkirui leads 2024 podium finishers, Hellen Obiri and Vivian Cheruiyot, back in the race. They will be joined by former champion Sharon Lokedi, meaning the past three winners will be gunning for top honors.
