Residents of Kirinyaga County have submitted a wide range of proposals during a public participation forum on the proposed 2026/2027 national budget held in Kerugoya. The forum was led by Michael Muchira, a member of the National Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee.
Participants, including leaders, students, traders, and residents, called for increased investment in roads, youth empowerment programmes, agriculture, education, and market modernization. Residents also pushed for reforms at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), including automatic voter registration after the issuance of national ID cards.
