Kisumu residents optimistic as SGR line nears commissioning

Residents of Kisumu have expressed optimism over Saturday’s commissioning of the SGR line, which is set to revamp trade and tourism in the region. Apart from direct employment, the residents outlined a raft of ventures they will be pursuing in relation to the new line. The Kenya Railways has hushed fears of forceful takeover of land, saying bonafide residents affected by the construction shall be compensated in due course.
