The Kitui County Government has launched a livestock vaccination drive targeting over 3,000 animals to curb the spread of foot and mouth disease. The exercise, being implemented through the Ministry of Agriculture, was launched at Nuu Market in Mwingi East Sub-County. Speaking during the launch, Agriculture CECM Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele said the 26-million-shilling programme is being rolled out in partnership with the national government, noting that Kitui is among the country’s leading livestock-producing counties.
