The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) has conducted a public participation forum in Kisii County on the proposed Statistics Bill, 2026, aimed at modernizing data management and aligning Kenya’s statistical systems with the 2010 Constitution and international standards.
Speaking during the engagement at the Kisii Agricultural Training Centre, KNBS Acting Head of Legal Linda Olweny said the proposed law seeks to devolve statistical functions to county governments to enhance independent data collection and improve planning.
