KRA ramps up efforts to boost tax compliance among micro and small enterprises

The Kenya Revenue Authority is stepping up efforts to improve tax compliance among micro and small enterprises as it seeks to expand the country’s tax base. Despite more than 22 million registered taxpayers in Kenya, only about 7 million currently pay some form of tax, with roughly 3.2 million of them being formally employed and remitting Pay As You Earn.
