KUPPET faults TSC over decade-long teacher stagnation

The Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has accused the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) of neglecting teachers who have stagnated in the same job group for over a decade. The union called on the commission to follow the example set by the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) in promoting long-serving officers without interviews.KUPPET Secretary General Akelo Misori said the move by the NPSC exposes the TSC’s failure to address similar stagnation among teachers, some of whom were last promoted in 2009 or 2011.
