The Kenya Veterinary Paraprofessional Association is opposing the move to establish a new regulatory body to approve veterinary medicines for use in the country. According to the association, the introduction of the new regulatory body could lock out the country’s livestock products in the international market. Addressing the media in Naivasha, the KVPA National association chairman John Ngigi, noted that the move could create confusion as the country already has an existing veterinary regulatory body with a similar function. Further he warned the move could erode gains.
