Nathaniel Nganga has warned residents in Mavoko against encroaching on waterways and violating physical planning regulations. Speaking in Mithwani Ward during a rescue mission for submerged houses, he accused some residents of erecting illegal structures on riparian land, a move he said has worsened flooding in the area.
He stated that the county government will demolish all buildings constructed on waterways in order to restore proper drainage systems and prevent further destruction caused by floods. The official emphasized strict enforcement of planning laws and urged residents to comply with land use regulations to avoid future losses.
