Acting Inspector General of police Gilbert Masengeli has denied the Judicial Service Commission’s assertion that withdrawal of judge Lawrence Mugambi’s security was a retaliatory move. Masengeli says that withdrawn security were taken back for training, maintaining that there were replacements contrary to claims by Chief Justice Martha Koome. The acting inspector general of police has appealed the ruling and is now seeking to have the six-month sentence set aside until the conclusion of the appeal
