Meet Lazeelolita - Nigerian Cosplayer using local materials for Anime Costumes - BBC Africa

Onyinyechukwu Onyeka, a Lagos-based cosplayer and gamer better known as lazeelolita, fell in love with anime – Japanese animation and comics – 17 years ago. Now she is one of tens of thousands of young Africans who are turning their passion into vibrant communities, digital content and thriving creative businesses. With only a few stores selling cosplay costumes around her, she started small, creating outfits from clothes she already owned. Now, drawing on her training as an electronic and computer engineer, she is pushing her creativity further, designing increasingly complex costumes.
