After Eleven years, the United Nation mission in Mali is officially over. While Minusma troops were withdrawn last December, a smaller team stayed behind to oversee the removal of UN-owned infrastructure and appropriate disposal of its equipment. The mission is one of the deadliest and is widely considered to have failed. But what were the challenges faced by Minusma and did it have any successes?
