More than 100 women in Kilifi County have received grants totalling KSh 1.8 million from Islamic Relief Kenya to support income-generating projects aimed at boosting local livelihoods and combating poverty. The funds, issued to vulnerable women who are organised in economic groups, will be used to expand small businesses. Speaking during the grant disbursement ceremony in Kilifi, Islamic Relief Kenya Field Coordinator Ahmed Osman said the program is part of the organisation’s efforts to uplift vulnerable communities through sustainable development. Osman was accompanied by Kilifi County Deputy Governor Flora Chibule, who lauded the initiative and reiterated the county government’s commitment to supporting similar empowerment programs.
