Most businesses operate normally Thursday in the coastal city of Mombasa

Most of the businesses within the Mombasa central business district continued uninterrupted for the better part of the day with few others remaining closed for fear of demonstrations and vandalism of property. Security was not left to chance as the police patrolled both on foot and in police vehicles. Business owners in the county are now calling on the youth to end the protests and give the president ample time to work on their demands.
