Members of parliament allied to the ruling United democratic alliance UDA have vowed to drum up support for the ruling party despite the move by their opponents to popularise the democratic alliance party. Led by Kirinyaga central MP Gachoki Gitari, the leaders said that the residents of the county voted for UDA party overwhelmingly and will still do so in the upcoming 2027 general election. The MP said that they are optimistic that President William Ruto will be re-elected for a second term, adding that the majority of elected leaders from the Mt Kenya region will be from the ruling UDA party.
