MPs attack Auditor General, Controller of budget

The last man standing Auditor general and the Controller of budget are on the firing line. In a clear attack on accountability, members of parliament lodged tirades on the two independent offices, accusing them of corruption. This follows the latest reports from the Controller of budget Margaret Nyakang’o and Auditor General Nancy Gathungu exposing massive irregularities and illegalities in government expenditures, especially in the procurement of the healthcare information technology system meant to operationalize the social health authority services.
