MRC RENEWS PUSH FOR COASTAL SELF GOVERNANCE, SEEKS INTERNATIONAL INTERVENTION

The Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) has renewed calls for coastal self-governance, accusing the Kenyan government of ignoring court rulings that affirmed the movement’s legality and constitutional rights. Speaking in Kilifi County, MRC leaders claimed security agencies continue to disrupt their meetings through arrests, surveillance, and harassment despite favorable court decisions issued in 1990, 2010, and 2016.
