Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi recalls his time as Finance Minister, saying Kenya once sought Singapore’s expertise to modernise the Port of Mombasa due to its global efficiency. He said the initiative was opposed by a few individuals at the time, warning that internal resistance to external expertise has slowed the country’s development. More than 30 years later, he noted, Kenya now regrets missing what he described as a golden opportunity.
