Murkomen orders security operation in four counties targeting bandits and financiers

The government has announced a renewed security crackdown on cattle rustling and banditry in Isiolo, Samburu, and Meru counties, with the operation set to take effect immediately. Interior cabinet secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, speaking during a security engagement in Isiolo on Tuesday, said the multi-agency operation will involve the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the National Intelligence Service (NIS). The agencies will work in close coordination with the national police service to flush out bandits and dismantle criminal networks operating in the region.
